Black Church Sustainability Campaign
December 2025 - December 2027
Greetings Ministry Partners
In these difficult times of challenge, unprecedented attacks on our progress, and rollback of programs and services we hold dear, testing our faith and resilience, we pause to reflect on Coretta Scott King's timeless quote that "Struggle is a never-ending process. Freedom is never really won; you earn it and win it in every generation."

The Skinner Leadership Institute, including the Masters Series for Distinguished Clergy (MSDC) and the National African American Clergy Network (NAACN), is the nation's primary clergy and lay advocacy efforts. As partners in the struggle, you have been walking with us for so many years to advance the Black Church and the diverse communities it serves through advocacy on issues such as voting rights, affordable healthcare, public safety, and other vital human needs for all people. To ensure the long-term sustainability of this work, we are honored to announce the launch of our 2025-2027 Black Church Sustainability Campaign and invite you to support this domestic mission effort.

Our Request to You
We ask that you consider putting Skinner Leadership Institute on your church's 2026 - 2027 budget for a monthly sustaining, tax-deductible gift of $150, $500, or $1000 through your church's mission outreach to sustain and expand this vital advocacy and equipping work. Your gift will help ensure the sustainability of our collective clergy advocacy efforts, and better equip clergy to raise their moral voices on policies impacting our communities.

Proverbs 31:8 reminds us to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves." Together, we can equip Black clergy with the tools, skills and resources they desperately need to be a strong moral "voice for the voiceless" collectively. Through advocacy, engagement with decision-makers on crucial justice issues affecting our congregants and communities, and prophetic preaching, we can protect our freedom and ensure our communities' progress in the days ahead, no matter who leads our nation.

Testimonials

PASTOR JOHN K. JENKINS, SR.
SLI Board Chair; Senior Pastor, First Baptist Church of Glenarden
The Masters Series for Distinguished Clergy was LIFE-CHANGING for me. The information and training provided by Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner and her team will forever impact my life and the congregation and community that I have been blessed to serve.
REV. DR. CYNTHIA L. HALE
Senior Pastor, Ray of Hope Christian Church
Through the Masters Series for Distinguished Clergy, many of us, as pastors, have met in Washington, DC, on Capitol Hill with Congressional leaders and their senior staff to advocate for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), the voting rights reform, and other important policy issues impacting our congregations and communities.

REV. DR. FREDERICK D. HAYNES, III
Senior Pastor, Friendship West Baptist Church
At a time of unmatched chaos, unprecedented confusion and unparalleled corruption at the highest levels of leadership, the Skinner Leadership Institute through the Masters Series for Distinguished Clergy equips and reinvigorates clergy to advocate for moral order, righteous rulership and justice for the vulnerable as commanded by God’s Holy Word.
REV. JIM WALLIS
SLI Board Member; Chair, Georgetown University Center on Faith and Justice
Skinner Leadership Institute proudly equips clergy leaders to raise their prophetic voices more effectively on behalf of the vulnerable, through the Masters Series for Distinguished Clergy.
